I started this site while I was getting my bachelor’s degree in physics and was sure of two things: 1. That we would soon be accelerating our race into space, and 2. That I was smarter and more motivated than most everyone else.  Both theories turned out to be false.  The optimism of the mid-90s turned out to be based on false promises, both of funding and the state of technology.  My life also took a set of dramatic turns as the idealistic college student discovered that great ideas do not feed one’s stomach or put a roof over his head.
